Who publishes it
This tool is published by Homeberry AI Solutions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16797161, based in Sheffield, trading as Sorted. You can verify the company on the Companies House register.
Sorted is a private document-preparation service. It is not affiliated with the Government of India, the High Commission of India, HM Government, or VFS Global. This tool is not an official pre-check and passing it is not any kind of approval — the portal’s own upload screen decides.
How the privacy guarantee works
“We don’t look at your photo” is a promise. This is stronger than a promise: the page is not built to be able to send it.
- The file is read with the browser’s own file reader and drawn onto a
<canvas>element in the page. Every measurement — dimensions, aspect ratio, file size, border lightness — is taken in your device’s memory, from the decoded image, the file itself and that canvas. - There is no upload endpoint. There is no form submission. Nothing about the image is placed in a web address, where it would end up in a server log.
- There are no third-party scripts, no advertising tags, and no analytics on this page at all.
- Nothing on this page is loaded from another domain. The stylesheet, the script and the photo-specification file all come from homeberry.ai. We deliberately dropped the web font the rest of our sites use, because loading it would mean this page contacted another company every time someone opened it — and then “no cross-origin requests” would have been a lie. The page uses whatever serif your device already has instead. That is the trade: slightly plainer type, a claim that survives being checked.
- Load the page, then turn off your internet. It still works. That is the test.

If you can read code, read it — that is a better assurance than anything we could write here.
What it deliberately does not do
- No face detection. Nothing in this tool knows where your face is. The oval overlay is a guide drawn at a fixed position for your own eye to judge against. Head size, expression, eye level and glare are yours to check.
- No invented specifications. A requirement is published only once it has been read from an official source — the portal’s own guidance, or its appointed provider’s published photo guidance — and dated. Until then the check reports what your file measures and says it cannot give a verdict. A confident wrong answer is worse than an honest gap — it would send someone away to “fix” a photo that was already correct. The one thing that is ours: the portals describe backgrounds in words (“plain light, not white”), so the lightness bands the checker uses to judge them are our own interpretation, kept in a separately labelled block in the data file and reported as a warning, never as the portal’s rule.
- No sign-up, no email capture, no stored results. There is nothing to delete afterwards.
Why it is free
We prepare Indian consular applications for a fee, and we would like you to use us for the rest of the application. That is the entire business case for this page, and it is better stated than hidden. If you never come back, the tool still did its job.
